To dress baby gently:

6 crossover or front-opening bodysuits (made of soft cotton for easy dressing)
6 velour or interlock pajamas
2 cardigans or knitted jackets (cotton or wool depending on the season)
1 sleeping bag (TOG rating suitable for the room temperature)
2 hats (essential to keep baby warm)
2 pairs of scratch mittens
3 to 4 pairs of socks or booties
2 soft bibs
1 special outfit for the outing (a cute look for the first photos)

For care and comfort:

1 hooded bath cape or towel
2 multipurpose muslin cloths
1 blanket or baby nest
1 soft comforter/doudou for cuddles
1 toiletry kit with brush, scissors, cotton pads, etc.

And for mom, everything she needs to feel good:
